As I have done every summer since 1997, I have travelled to Trillium Curling Camp in Guelph. At first it was as a camper, then as an assistant, and for the past five or so years, I've been a coach. It's always a fabulously fun time, and I'll come back as long as they'll have me.
Of course, it has led to a number of other opportunities working at other camps and clinics. Last October, I went to Calgary to work at the National Training Centre for a weekend junior clinic. Each September, I coach at a clinic in Oakville. And of course I've met people all over the country and all over the world.
Speaking of all over the world... I got invited to go to Germany to coach at a camp next summer. I've wanted to go to this one for a few years now, and finally it's my turn to go. So in July, I'll hop on a plane and touch down in Munich, on my way to Fussen, where I'll stay for a week or so before touring a little bit. So that's a bit exciting for me.
